Buddhist Society of South Australia
We are not currently tax-deductible.
Other ways to contribute are by offering ‘Dana’, Dana is not payment for goods or services rendered; it is given from the heart (more information here).
In the Buddhist tradition, the teachings are given freely because they are considered priceless; in the Buddhist tradition we also practice dana, or generosity, by making monetary offerings for the teachings. Your generosity is a gift that supports not just the teachers, but also the Sangha, the larger Dharma community, and your own practice.
Meal dana: at the vihara, your home or a restaurant
To find out when Dana offerings are available please refer to our calendar. Please be mindful that monastics take their last meal around noon so kindly keep this in mind when offering Dana to them.
Also please be aware that monastics are to refrain from touching money. White robed nuns (anagārikās) and lay-friends are able to receive money on behalf of the Samaneris and Bhikkhunis.
